You can immerse yourself in the history of Zierikzee through silverware, old maps and paintings in the Zeeland city’s Stadhuismuseum. One of the showpieces is the Darinkdelven panel from 1540, depicting the medieval salt extraction. For even more Zeeland history, visit the village of Burgh with its classic school building from 1843. In this building you will find De Burghse Schoole museum, with an authentic classroom from 1920, including wooden school desks, slates and slate-pencils. Also great to visit is the tin-can museum De Blikvanger in Renesse. It originally began with one tin found in the rubbish, and now the collection spans four thousand of them.
