"Beautiful setting and comfortable rooms"
Schuddebeurs is a beautiful village with the Hostellerie fitting in perfectly, It is quaint in a lush setting with some old school finesse. It is 3 km from the closest town, so after a big bike ride be prepared to just stay at the hotel and enjoy their first class restaurant.

"Grand Hotel in Rural Netherlands Area"
The hotel room was clean, spacious, and quiet. There were beautiful gardens to wander through before and after dinner in the hotel restaurant, which was one of the best of our 3 week trip in France, Belgium, and The Netherlands. We were happy to celebrate our anniversary there with good food and better wine. Good service all around.

"Pretentious. Very."
This hotel is perfect for the Hyacinth Bucket type but less so for the rest of us. In fairness, it is what it says it is. The wifi works. The beds are too soft. The water pressure could be a lot better. So could breakfast.

Schuddebeurs and Surroundings

Beautiful walks and splendid cycle trips

Zeeland, and the island of Schouwen-Duiveland in particular, is the ideal destination for filling a long weekend with walks and cycle trips. There are wonderful nature areas in the vicinity of Hampshire Hotel – Hostellerie Schuddebeurs, like Krekengebied Ouwerkerk, the woodlands of van Schuddebeurs, and the Prunje, the oldest polder of Schouwen-Duiveland. Beautiful cycle routes are the Caisson route and the FIKS Theme Route “The conquest of the water”. The hotel’s staff will be happy to advise you on the nicest routes.

Museums

You can immerse yourself in the history of Zierikzee through silverware, old maps and paintings in the Zeeland city’s Stadhuismuseum. One of the showpieces is the Darinkdelven panel from 1540, depicting the medieval salt extraction. For even more Zeeland history, visit the village of Burgh with its classic school building from 1843. In this building you will find De Burghse Schoole museum, with an authentic classroom from 1920, including wooden school desks, slates and slate-pencils. Also great to visit is the tin-can museum De Blikvanger in Renesse. It originally began with one tin found in the rubbish, and now the collection spans four thousand of them.
